Blackjack Games on the Floor
On our table-games floor at Cascades Casino Chatham, blackjack sits right at the heart of the action. When you come out to the property in Chatham, Ontario, you will find more than a single classic layout - we keep several different styles of blackjack running that change the pace of play and the way side bets work in a way that actually affects how you manage your bankroll.
The blackjack formats we currently feature are Free Bet Blackjack, Perfect Pairs Blackjack, Blazing Blackjack and standard Blackjack. Spanish 21 is also part of the mix on the floor. It is a 21-family game with adjusted rules, and most players who already understand basic blackjack flow settle into it fairly quickly. Each style uses its own payout table and side-bet structure, so moving between formats during a visit can make sense, as long as there is a seat open when you are ready to switch.
| Blackjack Variant | Key Feature |
|---|---|
| Standard Blackjack | Classic North American rules |
| Free Bet Blackjack | Complimentary splits and doubles on qualifying hands |
| Perfect Pairs Blackjack | Side bet on paired opening cards |
| Blazing Blackjack | Progressive side-bet element |
| Spanish 21 | Modified rules, all 10s removed from deck |
In Free Bet Blackjack, you are allowed to split and double down on certain hands without adding extra chips of your own, which changes how the numbers work compared with a standard table. Perfect Pairs offers a side bet tied to whether your first two cards form a pair. Blazing Blackjack steps things up with a progressive side-bet feature. One thing we should flag clearly: table minimums, number of decks in use, whether the dealer hits or stands on soft 17 and any surrender rules are not listed publicly online. If those details are important for how you plan your trip or your session, give us a quick call at (226) 296-0309 before you come in.
Hours for Table Games
Our gaming floor operates every day from 10:00 AM through to 2:00 AM. Live table games such as blackjack, baccarat or roulette do not run the full floor schedule though - their hours narrow down depending on which day of the week you visit.
Current live table-game hours are:
- Monday through Thursday: 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM
- Friday through Sunday: 12:00 PM to 2:00 AM
That weekend schedule gives you four extra hours of blackjack on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays compared to the weekday window. For example, if you walk in on a Tuesday around 2:00 PM, you will find the slot machines open and active, but the live tables will not have started yet. If table games are the main reason you are driving in, it is worth adjusting your arrival time around that. In practical terms, the Friday to Sunday block is usually the better fit for longer blackjack sessions.
Our address is 615 Richmond Street, Chatham, Ontario N7M 1R2, a short distance from Highway 401. That location makes us a reasonable stop for drivers moving through Southwestern Ontario. Parking is available on site for guests.
Getting Seated at a Blackjack Table
Once you are through the doors, the layout is fairly straightforward. The live table-games area is set apart from the banks of slot machines, so you do not usually need directions to find it, even on your first visit.
A typical arrival at a blackjack table looks like this:
- Come in through the main Richmond Street entrance and walk past the rows of slots toward the table-games section.
- Take a moment to look over the open tables. Each table has a small placard that shows the game name and the minimum bet, so you can see what is running and what limits are posted without having to ask.
- When you choose a table, wait just off to the side until the current hand is finished, and then sit down when the dealer acknowledges you.
- To buy in, place your cash flat on the felt and leave it there. The dealer will count it, convert it to chips and slide the chips to you.
- Before you start betting, check the rules card posted at the table for key details: blackjack payout, whether the dealer hits or stands on soft 17 and how any side bets are paid.
- Put your wager into the betting circle within the posted minimum and maximum limits before the dealer starts dealing.
- During play, use the standard table signals: tap the felt lightly if you want to hit, wave your hand horizontally to stand, place a matching stack of chips next to your original wager when you choose to double down.
- When you are ready to cash out, take your chips to the main cage. Dealers at the tables do not exchange chips back into cash.
One general piece of advice that works in most casinos: arriving closer to live-table opening often means more open seats and a calmer floor while you get settled. On Friday and Saturday evenings, the peak period in the industry, occupancy climbs across blackjack and the other games. If you come in closer to the 12:00 PM table opening on the weekend, the environment is usually more relaxed and you have more choice of variant and limit.
